Chris Sustala (Coach Crash)

Head Coach

“I am honored for the opportunity to grow on a foundation that we have set through the previous years.  Each session has taught me something different in working with the NextGen youth, and I am confident this year will be no different.”
 
Chris has been with NextGen from its very inception.  As well as coaching many local adult and youth triathletes, he has many years of experience coaching youth swimming through the Sharks Swim Club, the South Shore Sails Swim Team, and the Aggie Swim Club, at all levels, from developmental, to seniors and masters.  He also has the personal experience it takes to share with our kids what it’s like to compete at the elite competitive level – he completed 3 full Ironman Triathlons and around 50 half-Ironmans!

Shane Armstrong

Assistant Coach/DOTS

Shane is excited to work with NextGen and continue the mission of introducing and growing the next generation of triathletes.  As a NextGen coach, he looks forward to motivating, challenging, and developing our athletes. Triathlon is a huge part of his life, and he is passionate about the world of multisport; from training, to racing and coaching.

There are so many awesome NextGen youth coaches, both past and present!  Our youth coaches have valuable experience relevant to the sport.  You’ll find past NextGen athletes, USA Swimming and high school swim and water polo team members, summer swim league coaches, collegiate athletes, and lifeguards….and all are wonderful mentors for our NextGen kids.
