Open water swim training

Open water swim workouts with Coach Crash

Come out to Lake Longhorn in League City and get some open water swim training in with Coach Crash! This is a perfect way to get some swimming in during the training break or get ready for your next triathlon. Coach Crash is a USA Swimming certified swim coach as well as a triathlon coach – you are in good hands!! Our group will be kayak supported during training.

You will be placed in a group based on age/ability, with the faster/older group starting at 5 and the slower/younger group starting at 5:45.  Feel free to come out earlier than your training group to enjoy the lake, but kiddos arriving early or staying later must have adult supervision at all times and must not disrupt the training group – we want to ensure that Coach Crash can put his full attention into training our participants.  Parents and guardians must stay on the premises throughout the training.  Please note that the lake closes at 6:30pm.  All participants are required to wear a swim buoy at all times.  You can purchase these at Lake Longhorn or online.  Parents are welcome to swim as well – you can sign up to join the training or just have some fun and help keep an eye on the kiddos!  Anyone participating in training must be a current member of NextGen Triathlon Club.

Anyone swimming will need to check-in at the Gun Range office prior to swimming each day and pay the $10 entry fee. Lake Longhorn must have a waiver on file as well – you can complete it online for faster check-in at https://lakelonghorn.com/waiver/cart.php?wid=133. This waiver is valid for one year.
